Among these, he created this piece—one of a series of ten—using elegant brushwork to form an delicate structure of lines.ダミアン・ハーストDamien Hirst(1965~ )1990年代のイギリスで頭角を現したアーティスト、ダミアン・ハーストの作品は、オークションや販売価格では、現存する美術家の中でも最も高額で取引される一員となっている。彼の作品の根底には、「死」と「金」というテーマが存在する。誰もが知る大衆的なアイコンであるミニー・マウスを円で抽象化して解体、再構築し、派手なラメを散りばめたシルクスクリーンとして自身の作品へと変容させている。Hirst rose to a dominating position in the British art world in the 1990s, and through auctions and other sales channels his works have sold for some of the highest prices of any artist alive today. The themes of death and money lie at the core of many of his works. In the piece pictured here, Hirst took a popular icon of the masses, Minnie Mouse, and broke her down into abstract form using circles before reconstructing her as his own icon, screen-printed with lamé sections and shapes distributed amboyantly throughout.
